Flag Day, June 14, 2025
by Tara Fagan
On this incredibly significant day — Flag Day, June 14, 2025 — we at the National Association for Black Veterans are humbled and proud to receive a proclamation from Commissioner Tommy Calvert.
This moment marks not only 250 years of our nation’s independence, but also 251 years of service by the United States Army. As we honor the past, we also recognize the deep and ongoing contributions of Black veterans to America’s military history.
On behalf of NABVETS, I want to thank Commissioner Calvert for this powerful gesture. I also want to acknowledge the leaders who received this proclamation:
- Commander Harry Robinson
- Sergeant-at-Arms Ms. Tara Fagan
- Treasurer Ms. Patricia Davis
This honor is not just for us—it is for every veteran whose story deserves honor and respect
